Eintracht came third in the Bundesliga

Eintracht came third in the Bundesliga
20.02.2018

The pleasant surprise Eintracht (Frankfurt) took the third position in the Bundesliga after the 2:1 RB (Leipzig) turned in the first Monday game in history. Thus, Niko Kovacs scored 39 points - just one less than the second Borussia (Dortmund). RB (Leipzig) stayed 5th with 38 points. The guests took the lead of Jean-Kevin Ougousten in the 13th minute, but Timothy Chandler and Kevin-Prince Boateng brought Eintracht a success. The hosts impressed with an incredible press throughout the game and did not allow the opponent to impose their style of play. The game started with a 5-minute delay due to a protest from the hosts who were not happy with the Monday night`s scheduling. The RB (Leipzig) demonstrated self-confidence in the opening minutes and relatively quickly managed to find the result. It happened in the 13th minute when Conrad Lymeer broke very well on the right flank, and Jean-Kevin Ogunsten scored closely. Eintracht could still respond to the attack, but Timothy Chandler`s shoving sent the ball out.

The American continued to be very active, and it was he who scored in the 22nd minute. The goal came after a corner kick and passive bull protection. Consequently, several Eintracht players played with their heads and the ball reached Chandler, who scored 1-1 in close range. Immediately after the center, the guests organized a dangerous attack, and Ogustin was speeded into the penalty area, but kicked past the door. 26 minutes into the game, a brilliant ball from the right was a block-off by Eintracht. Ante Rebich advanced and centered perfectly on Kevin-Prins Boateng, who was not a problem to stretch the net.

In the 31st minute there was a very controversial situation. The guests claimed an offense against Marcel Sabitzer in the penalty area and Referee Felix Cwyer requested the intervention of the VAR system. After looking at the repetition, he adjudicated the ambush and wrenched the rage of Ralf Hahnhuttle`s players. Shortly before the break, Eintracht could score a third goal, but Gulaci saved Rebich`s shot. After the half-time referee signal, Nabi Keita provoked tension between the two teams, but everything quickly subsided. The second part was not so interesting. The guests did not find a way to reach a pure goal position, and they had one mind of Eintracht`s. In the 66th minute, Sebastian Aller could have scored for 3:1, but the ball went badly and the danger passed.

The RB (Leipzig) was trying to attack in a variety of ways, but there was nothing in the team game. The loss is seventh for the `bulls` during the season. In the next round, they take outsider Cologne. Eintracht will be visiting Stuttgart.
